Workshop Manager

About the position

Do you possess excellent managerial capabilities as a Workshop Manager in the fabrication industry? 
Our renowned client is seeking a Workshop Manager with a minimum of 7-10 years experience in pressure part manufacturing and fabrication. If you possess a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, along with a deep understanding of material specifications, welding, cutting, machining, and inspection processes, we want to hear from you!
Minimum Requirement

• Tertiary Education in Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Engineering.
• Min of 7-10 years in a pressure part manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of material specifications in a pressure part environment.
• Knowledge of welding.
• Knowledge of inspection processes.
• Experience in manufacturing/fabrication processes and procedures of fabricated pressure parts.
• Experience in welding, cutting, machining, rigging processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of machinery, tube benders, fins, headers and panels.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings associated with the manufacture of fabricated pressure parts.
• Experience in budget control and project management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee all workshop activities.
• Provide daily progress feedback to the Contract Coordinator.
• Monthly management meeting feedback and report.
• Maintaining and holding safety targets.
• Resource management and optimisation; managing people and resources. 
• Workshop operational costs.
• Material and consumable management.
• Stores management.
• Safety management and support.
