Shop Keeper

About the position

Two vacancies exists within a retailer in the food industry, one situated in Manguzi and one situated in Empangeni, for a suitably qualified and experienced Shop Keeper. Only applicants living in the areas of Manguzi and Empangeni need apply.

Purpose of Role:
The incumbent will be expected to:

• To generate product sales and manage the shop operations effectively.

Minimum Criteria:
The successful incumbent must:

• Be in possession of a Grade 12 / Matric certificate;
• Have intermediate literacy and numeracy skills.
• Minimum 2 years retail and/or sales experience;
• Fluency in English and isiZulu is essential;
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office;
• Have working knowledge of shop point of sale system;
• Be in possession of a valid SA identity document;
• Have the ability to clearly communicate with customers in a sales orientated environment.

Preferential Criteria:
The following criteria would be advantageous:

• Working knowledge in the food and catering;
• Experience in product merchandising and promotions.
