Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate a production schedule for the job,
- Implement and control the production schedule,
- Determine the human resources required,
- Determine the material resources required,
- Manage human and material resources to meet production targets,
- Work out and implement standard operating procedures for production operations,
- Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to,
- Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures,
- Set product quality standards,
- Monitor quality standards of products,
- Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives,
- Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems,
- Determine and implement improvements to the production process
- Prepare and maintain production reports,
- Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement,
- Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments
- Liaising with Production Manager on day to day running of the production
- Daily, weekly, and Monthly report to Production Manager
- Attend Production morning meetings
- Checking time sheet of staff every day and sign it off
- Able to work in freezer environment
- Able to work any shift i.e. day, afternoon, night, weekends, and holiday as per business requirements
- To ensure hygiene and housekeeping is in order.
- Management and adherence to FSSC 22000 Principles and OHS Act
- Ensuring correct policies and procedures are followed
- Responsible for Health and Safety in area of responsibility
- Participate and support Company's food safety and quality objectives
- Report all problems with Food Safety to the QA Manager who will initiate and record actions
Our ideal candidate must have:
- Matric.
- Diploma in Production or Operations Management.
- Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques
- Knowledge of raw materials
- Knowledge of quality systems and standards
- Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance
- Knowledge of process improvement techniques
- Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
- Knowledge of machines and tools
- Solid computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership skills
- 5 years' experience
- Knowledge of Food Safety and HACCP Principles
