Sales Manager - Loan Applications (Hands-On Pipeline Management) at Manati Alternate Student Funding

About the position

JOB PURPOSE:

Are you a seasoned sales manager with a passion for building high-performing teams and driving results? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess a keen eye for analysing data-driven insights?

We're seeking a highly motivated Sales Manager to lead a team of 12-20 loan application specialists. You'll be responsible for actively managing and optimising the sales pipeline, ensuring efficient conversion rates and propelling the business towards ambitious sales targets.

IMPORTANT: This is a hands-on role where you'll be deeply involved in the day-to-day operations. You'll not only guide and motivate your team, but also actively monitor the progress of loan applications throughout every stage of the pipeline.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Hands-on Pipeline Management: You'll be the expert on the sales pipeline, analysing conversion rates, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing strategies to improve efficiency.
• Data-Driven Sales Strategy: Analyse customer data to create a winning sales strategy that fosters long-term growth, surpasses sales quotas, and leverages the existing customer base.
• Building a High-Performing Team: Motivate and coach your team to consistently achieve their targets. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to ensure everyone has the skills needed to succeed.
• Mentorship and Onboarding: Be a dedicated mentor to individual team members, fostering a supportive and positive work environment. Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.
• Performance Management: Set clear objectives and track individual and team performance metrics. Analyse data to identify trends and implement strategies for continuous improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sales Manager
• Proven track record of managing a sales pipeline and optimising conversion rates
• Strong analytical skills to identify performance bottlenecks and create data-driven solutions
• Exceptional leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate, influence, and coach at all levels
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
• Previous knowledge of credit laws and regulations (a plus)
• Experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, and collections (a plus)

PACKAGE & REMUNERATION:

• The role is Permanent, with a 3-month probationary period.
• Basic salary is R30,000 - R50,000 per month depending on the level of education and years of experience (size of previous company/industry).
• On-Target-Earning potential is R600K - R950K per year.
• Salary adjustments are made on an annual basis from employment date and are performance related.
