About the position

JOB TITLE: REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN

DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Installation: They install CO2 refrigeration systems in various settings such as supermarkets, food processing plants, cold storage facilities, and industrial applications.
• System Maintenance: Regular maintenance is crucial for the efficient operation of CO2 refrigeration systems. Technicians conduct routine inspections, clean components, check for leaks, and ensure that all parts are functioning properly.
• System Repairs: When a CO2 refrigeration system malfunctions or breaks down, technicians diagnose the problem and make necessary repairs. This could involve replacing faulty components, fixing leaks, or adjusting system settings.
• Upgrades and Retrofitting: As technology advances and regulations change, technicians may be tasked with upgrading existing CO2 refrigeration systems to improve efficiency, safety, or compliance with environmental standards. They may also retrofit older systems to use CO2 as a refrigerant instead of other, less environmentally friendly options.
• Safety Checks: CO2 refrigeration systems operate under high pressure, so ensuring safety is paramount. Technicians conduct safety checks to make sure that all components are installed correctly, pressure levels are within safe limits, and there are no risks of leaks or other hazards.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have significant and demonstrable experience with CO2 refrigerant gas
• Preferable experience within a supermarket or cool store environment
• Willing to relocate to New Zealand
