Maintenance Manager

About the position

Hire Resolve's client is seeking a qualified and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep and maintenance of our meat deli in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance management, preferably within the food industry, and a passion for ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance plan for the meat deli, including preventive maintenance schedules and emergency response procedures
• Oversee all maintenance activities, including equipment repairs, building maintenance, and grounds keeping
• Manage a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks and ensuring all work is completed on time and to a high standard
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues and address them before they become a problem
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to schedule maintenance and repairs as needed
• Monitor and maintain inventory of spare parts and equipment to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and maintain records of inspections and maintenance activities

Requirements:

• Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably within the food industry or a similar environment
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple priorities
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
• A technical qualification in maintenance or a related field is preferred
