PURPOSE

• To provide legal advice on IT corporate and commercial law AND Technology Acts and Legislation matters and all other IT transactions and Vendor Contracts of the Company.

THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE AND KPAs ARE ESSENTIAL:

• What IT Contracts have you drafted - give examples
• list the various IT Laws, Acts and Legislation you have worked on - quote the Sections/Sub Sections of the relevant IT Acts and Regulations
• Describe the IT Research you have conducted (what was the content that you worked on and researched?)
• Must be a strong Team player who collaborates and engages with the IT Team of the company - what analysis and legal advisory do you provide to them in relation to ALL IT -related matters?
• IT Privacy Clauses - must be very strong on the Subject matter - describe your role in drafting these
• your strong role in drafting IT Agreements; Reviewing IT Agreements and Negotiating IT Agreements and Technology Contracts
• Interpretation: describe your strong ability to interpret and decipher Technology Law and IT Acts and Legislation - list examples of what you worked on
• your role in putting together IT policies and Governance for the IT Team and for the organisation
• ability to deal with the complexities of the contracts and agreements that come your way
• Digitisation: the company is moving from manual operation to automation in the digital era, therefore, the person must be hands-on and knowledgeable on the legal processes to be followed to counter and mitigate any risk to the company
• Speed - someone who works within quick turnaround times and provide deliverables to the IT Team on time

NON-NEGOTIABLES FOR THIS ROLE:

QUALIFICATIONS
Completed LLB Degree.

EXPERIENCE:

• Between 3 - 5 years POST ADMISSION experience in IT Corporate / Commercial legal advisory
• Strong focus on IT CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS
• Admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa
• Must have 3 - 5 years POST ARTICLES experience
• Ability to undertake research in IT Contracts, IT Privacy Clauses
• Draft, Review and Negotiate IT Contracts
• Interpret Technology Acts and Legislation
• Engage and collaborate with the IT Team on Digitisation of systems
• Strong drafting of AI and Digital Contracts

JOB DUTIES

• Conduct legal research, provide opinions and advice in respect of corporate/commercial law- Draft, review and negotiate agreements of corporate/commercial/operations with a main focus on INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
• Participate in and provide legal advisory in corporate transactions / projects- Manage and assist with corporate litigation of the company.- Identify new and amendments to legislation that impact the Company and advise and assist with implementation.
• Strong Understanding and application of TECHNOLOGY LAW and PRIVACY CLAUSES
• Advise on FAIS and related legislation
• Manage legal instructions and attorneys on the panel- Oversee contract management process at Legal and manage contract management process in respect of concluded agreements in corporate legal
• Governance including policies review and management- Provide training and awareness to staff- Any other function under corporate legal as requested.
