About the position

Junior Bookkeeper Role Description:

The role is to handle various financial tasks within an organization. Here are some common responsibilities and skills associated with this role:

Recording Transactions:
Records day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
They post these transactions to relevant accounts.
Reconciliation:
At the end of each month, the role is to reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes, and bank accounts.
This process involves comparing records to ensure consistency and identifying any discrepancies.

Financial Monitoring:
Monitors financial transactions and generates reports.
Keep track of financial data to provide insights and identify trends.
Accounts Receivable and Payable:
Processing accounts receivable (money owed to the company) and accounts payable (money the company owes to others) is part of their responsibilities.

Software Proficiency:
Proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is essential.
Knowledge and proficiency in Pastel Accounting is required.

Experience and Qualifications:
Has at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
Knowledge of debtors and creditors is important.
Relevant tertiary qualifications can be advantageous, a bookkeeping qualification or a university degree would be preferable.

Other Tasks:
In addition to the above, the role is to handle payroll processing, basic bookkeeping, and other related administrative functions.
Role is to maintain client documents, handle invoicing, and assist with various legislative submissions (e.g., EMP201, VAT201)

Desired Skills:

• Microsoft Office (Word
• Excel) is essential
• Knowledge and proficiency in Pastel Accounting is required.

Desired Work Experience:

• 2 to 5 years Bookkeeping
