Our client in the Financial Services industry is currently looking to employ an experienced and astute Head of Marketing and Activation based in Johannesburg.

A bachelor’s degree, or higher, in financial / business / commerce or Marketing secures!

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree, or higher, in financial/business/commerce or Marketing Services or related fields is required.
  • Any other formal business or marketing qualification and/or certificates will be helpful.
  • Financial Business Unit Management/Distribution Channel Management or Marketing and Brand Management accountability at a Mid-Snr Management level and or Client Experience Accountability.
  • Financial Services Preferential.
  • BU Management/Distribution/Digital/Communications/Event Experience/Classic Marketing and Branding are all advantages.
  • 10 years Minimum experience.
  • Experience in Distribution/Business Unit Management in Financial Services or Networked industries.
  • Alternatively experience in a Brand Management / Marketing Manager role.
  • Experience managing strategic partners.
  • Experience in the financial services industry would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience in Client Activation and Event Management.
  • Ability to effectively develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy.
  • Experience of the full marketing mix is essential.
  • Experience in digital marketing.
  • Proven track record of competently delivering large-scale and/or multiple projects at a time.
  • Proven experience in customer and market research and campaigns.
  • Budgeting skills and the capability of operating the department within an approved budget.
  • Advanced computer literacy including MS Word, Power Point, Outlook and Excel.

 
Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:

  • The overarching objective of the role is the implementation of the Marketing, Activation and Brand Strategy aligned to Client Experience and the broader business goals.
  • Merge Business Development and Marketing Execution focussing on Client Touchpoints and Experience.
  • Assisting in the development of the Marketing and Communications Strategy for the company.
  • Creating an enduring brand message aligned to the values of the company, that results in increased adoption and brand loyalty.
  • Developing high quality and effective marketing materials and sales aids that align correctly with the overall company strategies.
  • Formulation and Execution of Digital Marketing Strategy.
  • Copywriting (Brochures, letters, communications).
  • Ability to lead, influence, drive and deliver the marketing strategy externally and internally and with agencies to deliver against key business objectives (return on investment).
  • Develop and drive the Communications Strategy and Framework for the business, internally and externally. Communications include Internal Communications (CEO Comms, Operational Comms, Partners Comms), Investment Communications as well as External Communications (Client Communications as well as PR/Social Media/Website).
  • Strategic Marketing input – ability to provide input into the marketing strategy and present clear and strategic recommendations to deliver result-driven marketing solutions across different mediums.
  • Event Co-ordination and implementation (Client Events, Partner Events such as Conferences, Investment Roadshows). Co-ordination with Activation Team to ensure that all attendees are actioned /activated post an event.
  • Developing and sustaining strong working relationships with all offices and partners, nationally.
  • Marketing support and administration - support and co-ordinate all regional marketing initiatives and providing central support to the various regions.
  • Promotional Material and Branding – ordering of promotional and marketing material and maintaining stock levels.
  • Development of PowerPoint / Sales Presentations.
  • Must be able to work under pressure, independently and unsupervised.
