Financial Accountant at The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA)

About the position

Purpose:
Process and manage all aspects of head financial reporting and Stoma Clinic other delegated financial reporting responsibilities. Assist with various duties for the other Regions, provide financial reporting support to the General Manager: Finance to enable sound business decisions and timeous/accurate, monthly financial reporiting

Position detals:

• Process and manage all aspects of Financial Reporting
• Provide sufficient support to General Manager: Finance
• Implement financial controls
• Management of balance sheet accounts
• Compiling & Managing budgets and forecasts
• Fixed Asset and Inventory Management & reporting
• VAT Recons
• Year-end Recons
• Manage Bookkeeper/s incl. providing appropriate support

Desired Skills:

• Three-year University degree in Accounting or BCom Honours (Accounting or Finance) or Equivalent NQF level 8
• - Registration with a professional accounting body e.g. SAIPA or AGA will be advantageous
• - At least 5 years working experience i.e. processing up to balance sheet and proven record of budget management
• Ability to use accounting software
• previous experience on Accpac/Sage 300
• Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office software
• Internet based applications and computer equipment
• - Accurate data analysis & numeracy Skills
• - Resilience to work in a highly structured and pressurised environment
• - High level Time Management and Organising skills
• - Excellent Teamwork skills and attributes
• - Previous experience working in an NGO environment will be an added advantage
• - Valid Code 8 Driver's licence and own transport
• - Non-Smoker
• Sound knowledge of financial accounting principles
• processes and policies

Desired Work Experience:

• 2 to 5 years Regulating Bodies & Organisational
• 5 to 10 years Financial / Project Accounting

• Degree
• South African Institute of Professional Accountant
